About

Advancing the field through research and innovation.

Robot Lab – Greece is a research group dedicated to robotics and mechatronics. We craft solutions that blend deep engineering with creative experimentation.

Our mission

To push the boundaries of what robots can do — in factories, in homes, and in the hardest environments. We focus on practical, real-world applications and we build custom mechatronics solutions collaboratively.

Our values

  • Curiosity. Questions lead to better systems.
  • Craft. We care about details, from solder joints to code.
  • Community. We grow by teaching and learning together.

Founder & Director

  • Associate Professor, School of Mechanical Engineering, NTUA
  • Honorary Associate Professor, University of Auckland
  • Director, New Dexterity research group
  • Founder, OpenBionics & the Humanoid Olympiad
  • CEO & CTO, Acumino

Roboticist and entrepreneur leading research in robotic manipulation, dexterous grasping, and humanoid systems. Holds academic appointments in Athens and Auckland, and founded several initiatives that bridge academic research with real-world impact.

Initiatives we host

Open research with global reach.

Robot Lab – Greece is the home base for two initiatives that extend our work into open-source hardware and dexterous robotics worldwide.

01

OpenBionics

Open-source prosthetic & robotic hands

An open-source initiative designing affordable, lightweight prosthetic and robotic hands, plus soft exoskeleton gloves. Released under permissive licenses so researchers and clinicians worldwide can build on the work.

02

New Dexterity

Binational research on dexterous robotics

A research group operating across NTUA (Athens) and the University of Auckland, developing intelligent, dexterous robots for industrial automation, earth monitoring, and human augmentation.
